Assinatura do Acordo de Implementação com o Conselho Europeu de Investigação (CEI).
No dia 13 de outubro, o Comissário responsável pela Pesquisa, Ciência e Inovação, Carlos Moedas e o Presidente do Conselho Nacional das Fundações Estaduais de Amparo à Pesquisa (CONFAP), Sergio Luiz Gargioni, assinaram o acordo, que pretende incentivar jovens cientistas brasileiros a integrar equipes de pesquisa financiadas pelo CEI, que efetuam pesquisas de ponta em toda a Europa.
O acordo visa executar a estratégia ‘CEI — Aberto ao Mundo’. O CEI concede bolsas a investigadores de todas as nacionalidades, desde que desenvolvam a sua atividade de pesquisa nos países do Espaço Europeu da Investigação (EEI), que engloba os Estados-Membros da União Europeia e os países associados ao programa-quadro de pesquisa. É importante sensibilizar investigadores não europeus para essas oportunidades de financiamento e facilitar a sua integração num projeto financiado pelo CEI.

No dia 14 de outubro, houve uma mesa redonda posterior, na qual foram abordadas várias iniciativas de pesquisas ligadas a saúde, energia, aviação, meio ambiente, nanotecnologia, mobilidade urbana e sustentabilidade de cidades, informática e comunicações. Destacou-se também o sucesso até aqui do edital “Cooperação Internacional com o Brasil em Biocombustíveis Lignocelulósicos Avançados”, lançada pelo CONFAP e pela União Europeia, no âmbito do Programa Horizonte 2020, cujo prazo de submissão encerrou dia 8 de setembro de 2016.
CONFAP pretende organizar um evento no Brasil em fevereiro ou março de 2017 com presença de representantes do ERC e da Comissão Europeia como um todo.
